Can I receive compensation for assistive devices?
Yes, if
- there is a doctor’s certificate or medical document indicating that you need the assistive device due to your personal injury.
- you cannot receive the assistive device free of charge from the county council or the like.
- you have a receipt or a quote for your cost.
- you were injured or became sick during the protection period. The protection period is the time spanning when you begin travel to your service, detention centre, admission or treatment to when you complete your travel home.
How much do I get?
You can receive compensation for the entire cost of your assistive device.
The compensation can be paid out on many occasions, for example if you need to replace batteries or the like.
Bear in mind you only receive the compensation from Försäkringskassan if you do not receive it from any other source. The county council often pays for assistive devices.
How do I apply?
1. Report the injury
